Extended Features: Native: Small tree. Grows 25' tall by 15' wide. Red/purple flowers in early spring. Prefers shade to part sun. Grows fast. Great for planting along borders and as understory tree.
How To Maintain: Feed in March and November with Treetone. Re-mulch in November and June. Deep soak with Miracle-gro every 2 weeks the first two summers after planting. Limb-up lower branches over time to 6-7'. Spray with Horticultural Oil insecticide in March.
Usage: Attractive accent, garden, or lawn specimen
Interest: Small, round-headed, spreading deciduous tree, great combined with dogwood in a native design.Dainty pinkish, flowers
