Extended Features: Agapanthus africanus, also known as Lily of the Nile or African Lily, this beauty has round clusters of blue-violet flowers atop stiff, upright, stalks rising above a dense mound of strap-like green leaves. Blooms in summer. Foliage mounds are attractive when plants are not in bloom. Moderately salt tolerant and prefers well drained soils. How To Maintain: Divide and/or transplant in November using Rock Phosphate fertilizer. Cut flowers and foliage to within 2" of soil and add to compost pile. Feed with Flowertone in March. Spray with All-season Oil in May for insect control. Deep-soak with Vitamin B-1 fertilizer every 2 weeks for first 2 summers. Re-mulch in June and January.
