Extended Features: Homalomena 'Maggy' is a stunning plant in the Aroid plant family with large, heart-shaped leaves and beautiful, orangey-pink petioles. It is a very easy care plant for lower-light locations in your home. Other common names include 'Shield Plant'.
How To Maintain:
  • For optimal performance, keep at 60-85°F (15-29°C).
  • Protect furniture when watering.
  • Feed once per month at half strength when plant is actively growing.
  • Homalomena is a great plant for lower-light places, as long as you're OK with slower growth.  Otherwise, a good location is in front of a window that doesn't get too much direct sun.  A couple hours of direct sun is still good.
  • Never let your Homalomena dry out completely.  These plants are native to rainforest floors so dappled/filtered light and moist conditions are best.  Allow the top inch of the potting mix to dry out before watering again thoroughly. 
  • A well-drained potting mix is a must. Adding perlite and orchid bark will improve drainage.
